San Siro Stadium is located at the west part of the city and a relatively cool place with mostly residential areas all around. Lotto is the closest metro station in red line or Metro line no. 1 and from there you can have brisk walk that would take approximately 20 minutes to reach the stadium. Other alternative for availing public transport is to take the tram 6 from the west side of Piazza Duomo at the center of Milan city and travel all the way up to San Siro or a place a little further called Piazzale Segesta which is around 20 minutes from the stadium. Work on new metro line is going on for some time and that is precisely the reason Tram 6 may not travel up to the stadium.
These days people mostly prefer to buy match tickets online, especially if you are from other countries. Another option is to buy tickets from any of the branches of Italian bank Banca Intesa Sanpaolo or from some specific book stores in Milan. Normally for a third tier match ticket the price is around E20, while the same can go up to E40 and a lot higher for central lower rows. Remember if you are planning your tour itinerary keeping in mind to watch a preferred match, book your online ticket in advance, otherwise before the hyped match the tickets can go on sell at a much higher price than what is mentioned above. It is smarter for avoiding hassle in buying ticket from a bank or book store.
